The WebCustoms application by CrimsonLogic is a powerful tool for marine carriers and freight forwarders to meet North American cargo reporting compliance demands prior to vessel arrival. Using WebCustoms, carriers can participate in the Automated Manifest System (AMS), Importer Security Filing (ISF, also known as 10+2), and the Advance Commercial Information (ACI) programs. AMS was introduced by the United States’ Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as a pre-arrival security program that enables CBP to screen shipments with the use of electronic manifests. This in turn enables carriers to electronically pre-clear cargo days before their vessel arrives. At the same time, the carriers can update the arrival of a vessel at each port of call.

ISF is an extension of the 24-hour rule for marine reporting, as AMS does not provide CBP with enough data to do a thorough security screening of the incoming cargo.

ACI is Canada Border Service Agency’s (CBSA) counterpart to AMS, requiring an electronic submission of conveyance and cargo reporting. The WebCustoms application enables marine carriers and freight forwarders to submit electronic manifests online, by fax, or through EDI integration. A customer service facility is available 24/7 to give support and assistance to customers in need.
